Download our template for the exact format we use for importing your invoices.
We support several types of importing including .bmp, .csv, .gif, .jpeg, .jpg, .pdf, .png, .xls, .xlsx. The non picture formats include csv, xls, and xlsx.
How is an excel import different from an image/pdf import?
The import goes directly into your invoice section. Your entire import will be put right into your invoice section.
Why use excel importing?
A few vendors send invoices in excel format. You may have previously been using another system or have invoices already written in excel making this an easy way to import old invoices.
How should the excel sheets be formatted?
We created a file that shows you exactly the style we are looking for. We also have an example invoice you can use to get a better idea how the import works.
The main sections to pay attention to are as follows:
Order Date is formatted as MM/DD/YYYY, i.e. 02/03/2016
Price is entered using numbers only, no $ sign. So $3.00 entered in your excel sheet should be just 3.00.
Tax is represented by either a 0 for nontaxable item or 1 for a taxable item.
Unit Types include the following: each, tsp, tbsp, flz, cup, pint, gal, ml, ltr, dltr, qt, gm, oz, lb, kilo, mg, mcg
An Example Invoice
Importing the Excel Invoice Format
Once I’ve selected the file I want to import it will appear under pending.
Simply click import and the file will get moved into the completed section.
The invoice should now be a part of our invoices. Checking out the invoice section, we see the file is now added and auto calculated with the correct total.
If you are interested in more ways to make restaurant invoices easier, we also allow the ability to import directly using a scan of an invoice.

For those that don’t want to use our own format, you can also use some of the other formats we’ve found on the internet. Our goal is to help restaurants increase their sales whether they use our software or not. Plenty of restaurants use excel as an easy way to track their sales. We’ve come up with a basic excel version of an invoice which we may have used before creating this software.
We’ve come up with a number of excel examples you can use. This project is still a work in progress unfortunately!
